Pye Motors Marks Centenary with Strategic Expansion and New Franchise Partnership
BARROW-IN-FURNESS, UK — Pye Motors, a long-standing member of the UK's automotive retail sector, is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year with a significant and strategic business expansion. The company, which has been operating in Barrow since 1996, is undertaking a two-site development to optimize its portfolio and drive future growth.
The company's new flagship Ford dealership is set to open in September 2025 on Abbey Road. This purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility will feature an 11-bay workshop and a 7-car showroom, providing an enhanced and modern experience for Ford customers.
In a move to expand its brand portfolio, Pye Motors will retain its existing site on James Freel Close, which will become the dedicated home for its new franchise partnership with Chery. The Chery franchise will launch with the Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8 models, known for their competitive value and quality. This strategic decision allows Pye Motors to expand into a rapidly growing segment of the market while maintaining a strong physical presence in Barrow.

The expansion is projected to create 15 new jobs across the two sites, further contributing to the local workforce and economy.
