D.M. Keith Ltd is the latest Dealer Group to join the Retail Automotive Alliance Limited (RAA) as a Shareholder in the well-established and successful JV business, further expanding the RAA UK coverage through the 27 Member businesses.
D.M. Keith Ltd is a second-generation business that began in 1946 and in the mid-seventies took on the ŠKODA brand which has led to much of the Leeds-based group’s success.
Following the recent acquisition of Ringways Motor Group, also an RAA Member, D.M. Keith now has 13 dealerships across Yorkshire & North East Lincolnshire representing SEAT, CUPRA, and Honda as well as ŠKODA and with the purchase of Ringways, has added Ford and Kia to its portfolio, taking their turnover to £230m.
The RAA has a turnover of £3.47bn through more than 200 sales outlets and leverages this scale to secure long-term contracts with Blue Chip automotive suppliers which in turn delivers savings way beyond what any individual RAA Member could achieve alone.
Dougal Keith, Managing Director of D.M. Keith Ltd said,
“The initial interest in joining the RAA was financially driven because of the considerable savings from the string of contracts the group holds but it also became clear that there is real value in the opportunity to meet the other RAA Members and share ideas and solutions in this new trading environment that we all have to adapt to.”
John Matthews, Director of the RAA, said,
“All of our Shareholder Members finished 2020 in much better shape than we thought might be the case this time last year and 2021 has exceeded expectations across the board, with online sales playing a vital role.”
“Dougal and his team have built a business that is exactly in the RAA “sweet spot” in terms of family culture, scale, and growth aspiration which means that the value we both get from this union is greater than ever and we embrace D.M. Keith joining us our latest Member.”
